Braybrook Primary School

This week in “Our Greenies”, we meet some of the teachers and students at Braybrook Primary School.

Braybrook is a small school located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. The school has a population of 136 children coming from a wide range of social, cultural and economic backgrounds. Together the students and teachers at this little school have worked on many fantastic projects that focus on caring for the environment. These projects range from rubbish clean up and petitioning for a bin to be located at a nearby bus stop, to worm farming, composting their food scraps and using collected rain water to irrigate their veggie patch. The students have also focused on the importance of water in so many aspects of our lives and this has culminated in the creation of a magnificent mural located within the school grounds.

Next time you are driving along Ballarat Road keep an eye out for Braybrook Primary and the many inspiring messages about caring for our planet that are displayed along the fence!
